We asked aesthetician Mary Argeitou, a professional with 50 years of experience in her field, what our body needs most after summer vacation, and she answered with one word: “Exfoliation!”

• What exactly does exfoliation do? The outer layer of the skin naturally renews itself every 28 days, shedding dead cells from the stratum corneum to bring new, healthy cells to the surface. However, this process slows down over time due to aging and environmental exposure. As a result, dead cells linger longer, making the skin rough, dull, and dry. Exfoliation offers multiple benefits: it removes dead skin cells, unclogs pores, stimulates microcirculation, and enhances the penetration of active ingredients in moisturizing products. Most importantly, it activates the basal layer to produce new skin cells.

• How often should we exfoliate? Body peeling is recommended as a year-round wellness treatment, as a preparation routine before vacations, and essentially after exposure to sun, wind, and seawater

• Will peeling make us lose our hard-earned summer tan? The idea that peeling removes a tan is completely false—in fact, it’s quite the opposite! Dead skin cells accumulate on the surface, making the skin appear dull and uneven. These must be removed to achieve a smooth, radiant, and even-toned complexion.

• How is body peeling performed? It is a full-body massage treatment using salt infused with pine essential oils, which exfoliates the skin while simultaneously stimulating blood circulation, providing relaxation and well-being. This is followed by a hydrating mask enriched with milk protein, and the treatment concludes with a massage using a cream rich in oils and vitamins. This way, our tan will be enhanced, appearing more radiant, even, and glowing, while our skin will be deeply hydrated and softer.
